Making an Impact with Wisdom and Kindness

This week we are highlighting Laurie Malloy, ACC Coach and National Speaker, from Northwest Arkansas.

WiM: Tell us a little about your business. What do you provide? When did you get started?

LM: I started working with my daughter, Jenna in Simple Spaces as a Professional Organizer & Trained Life Coach. After working together for 4.5 years we decided to change direction so we could focus on our passions. I went back for more training to become an ICF (International Coach Federation) Coach, Certified Enneagram and Confidence Coach.

My focus now is on coaching, training and speaking. I enjoy coaching individuals, couples and groups, taking them through “Rise to the Top.” This is a six-session program I created focusing on skillful living concepts (personal core values, boundaries, communication, time management, etc.). I also offer trainings and presentations on Core Values, Enneagram Typing and Time Management & Productivity.

WiM: What motivated you to start your business?

LM: I believe that we all want to make a difference and this was the way that I could make a difference. This year my word is “impact.” I’m asking God to impact me so I can impact others.

WiM: Who is one woman who has inspired and/or encouraged you in your work?

LM: My daughter, Jenna, whom I worked with earlier in Simple Spaces. She is always praying for me when I am faced with challenges. She also offers a safe space for me to share my thoughts and fears without judgment. I value her insightful wisdom and love that she is cheering me on and celebrates my successes!

WiM: How have you seen God’s hand in your work and the growth of your business?

LM: The business now looks much different than when it started in 2010. It has grown steadily and I try to stay in my lane while I trust him for future opportunities. I often coach on implementing great habits into your life and for me that’s reading the Word and walking daily before my work begins. I also fast periodically and believe this has impacted the growth of the business.

I’m grateful and amazed at the doors that have opened up for me. Ephesians 3:20 comes to mind, “Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” Today I’m working more with leadership teams and small businesses by Enneagram typing their employees. These teams and businesses recognize that the Enneagram is a robust powerful personality assessment.

Other doors are opening up for me to educate and coach on the “Rise to the Top” coaching program with couples, teams and businesses. Lastly, even though I haven’t worked for corporate America (only small businesses) God is bringing me corporate work as I’m preparing for a leadership training to a Power Company in April.

What I realize with that opportunity is that “all things are possible.” It’s important not to look at what you see but focus on His promises to you and the unseen.

WiM: How do you see your work as a means of unleashing your faith and loving people?

LM: I believe that I am called to be a “truth-teller” and I believe we all need those people in our lives. So, whether I’m coaching, training or doing a presentation I can speak the truth to others in a loving non-judgmental way. One of my core values is faith and I try to make that evident in everything I do, whether I’m coaching or training. My daily prayer is “she opens her mouth with wisdom and on her tongue is the law of kindness.” I think if I do this then everything else will fall into place.
