Episode 4: Confidence in the Lord
Reading: Proverbs 3:7-27
Today’s podcast is all about confidence in the Lord! Author Catherine Gates defines confidence in her book The Confidence Cornerstone, which is rooted in the belief that God has created us with useful gifts and talents to share in this life and that we can learn and grow from our experiences to ultimately accomplish the work God created us to do.
Jane reflects on her own experience of thinking she was confident in a new job, but her arrogance caused her to stumble. Thankfully a colleague helped her and ultimately encouraged her to grow in her confidence. The passage from Proverbs 3:26 mentions that, "The Lord will be your confidence," and Jane emphasizes the importance of trusting in the Lord and His provision, which ultimately leads to building a foundation of confidence. Jane encourages listeners to consider their own confidence in the Lord and how they define their identity in light of the work they do.
